Proclamation

This morning I have been studying my Seminary lesson in which we are studying John chapter 9. This is such an interesting chapter. As I studied I saw many parallels between our day and age and what this man went through. In this chapter Jesus comes upon a blind man and heals him. The Pharisees then proceed to try and trap him to gain evidence against Jesus. They even go so far as to try and convince this many that he wasn’t blind!

I find it all interesting because it reminds me of the cancel culture that is so prevalent in our society today. For some reason our media, social media, and even our own government is trying to push it’s agenda’s on everyone, and if you don’t agree with what they want, especially if you find in morally deplorable, you are criticized, made fun of, called names, etc. All in the name of acceptance of all. However, acceptance will only come if you not only condone, but agree and uphold their perspective, sins, opinions, whatever.

In the last 25 years or so there has been a very deliberate undertow, that has now become very evident, to attack anything that disagrees with this culture, including religion, and especially the family unit. More and more laws are being passed that limit the rights of parents, and more and more groups are attacking parents who stand up for their beliefs, especially if the child happens to agree with this culture and disagrees with the parents.

I believe that he family unit was ordained of God, at the beginning of time, and it hasn’t been changed since. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I believe that there are only 2 genders, male and female, and that we were created as such as spirit children of God, long before we came to this earth. I believe that life is precious and that God has never revoked the multiply and replenish the earth commandment. I believe that there are gender specific roles, not that one gender can’t do them all (and in some circumstances needs to do so), but why would you want to! I am so grateful for my husband, that we are partners in this life. That we can help each other and help our children navigate this crazy world. I believe that the family unit is the best possible way to raise the rising generation, and that except in the case of abuse, the government should stay out of the family and let parents do their job.

I also know that I am accountable to God for how I raise my children, how I live my life, and how I treat everyone I come in contact with. This life is meant to change us into better people, striving for perfection, understanding that none of us will reach perfection here, but we can become better than we were every single day. I do believe we all have a right to our own opinions, and that should never affect our treatment of others. Even when it’s hard, we should treat each other like human beings, but that doesn’t mean condoning and supporting things that we don’t believe in. What does the future hold? I don’t know, but I stand by the family unit, I stand by my freedoms to worship as I see fit, and most importantly, I stand by my God.
