I have been studying about Jesus Christ and His Atonement, and I would like to share a bit about what I’ve learned.

Who Is Jesus Christ

I just finished a study of the Book of Mormon, focusing on Jesus Christ and His Atonement, and I thought I would share my thoughts on this.

Jesus dressed in biblical attire with long hair and a serene expression, standing in a vast, open landscape.

Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God. His mission here on earth was to set an example for us to follow, and to atone for each one of us. He completed that mission, and through the scriptures, we can get to know Him, and understand His purpose a little bit better. This is what I have been learning so far, and I am sure as I continue to learn more about Jesus, and strive to become more like Him, I will continue to learn.

Jesus Christ is Atonement. They are not 2 separate things. He is the only way back to my Heavenly Parents. He wants to walk with me, He wants to help me. He wants me to return to my Heavenly Father. He loves me, Stephanie (and He loves you).

He asks me to repent, to have faith, and to trust in Him, and trust Him. He gives help. He advocates for me, He guides me through the Spirit, He cleanses me by the Spirit as I strive to change, to follow His example, and become more like Him. I have challenges, trials, and weaknesses so that I can turn to Him, rely on His help, and get to know Him better.

Jesus, because He performed the Atonement, can extend time, this probationary time to me to learn, to grow, to repent, and change. He extends me mercy, grace, time, patience, His long-suffering as I make many mistakes along the way, and His help.

He does not vary, just like Heavenly Father. I can count on Him to be who He says He is, and to do what He says He’ll do, to forgive, to love, to help, to instruct. I can trust that what He covers is covered, what He forgives is forgiven. He is the only way back to my Heavenly Parents.

Because of His experiences, He has perfect patience, a perfect understanding of my struggles, my trials, my challenges, and my heartbreaks. He can help me through them all, and rejoices with me in my success.

The empty tomb

He has taken the sting of death, the fear of death. He has the victory over death. I am so grateful I can live again because of Him. I can see loved ones and be reunited with them. I can live in eternity with my family, sealed as a family, and live with Him and my Heavenly Parents.

I am grateful for Jesus Christ. I love Him and I want to become more like Him. I want others to be drawn to Him because He is in me. He has saved, redeemed, forgiven, and loved me, and continues to do so. I need to show my love and gratitude to Him by treating others with His love, Christlike love, charity.

Only in and through Jesus Christ can I find peace and rest in this life, no matter the chaos that is happening around me, He extends true peace, true happiness, real joy.

Jesus Christ, and the Atonement He performed, is truly love.

I am so grateful to have studied with this focus. I am grateful for what I have learned, and what I can continue to learn. I am grateful for Jesus Christ.
