I enjoy playing some types of games and really don’t like playing other types. I think my least favorite games are board games, I don’t know why. I do enjoy a couple of board games, Life is one of my favorites. I also enjoy playing Catan once in a while. But, my favorite games are card type games. We have several that I really enjoy.

My favorite card game of all time has to be UNO. I remember playing this as a kid, and we taught our kids this game when they were young. My kids have always enjoyed playing, and it is one of the few games that my husband will even join in on as well. This Christmas we received UNO No Mercy. I didn’t think it could get any more fun, but that added a whole new dimension that we all enjoy as well.

I also enjoy playing 5 Crowns. We played that one this evening. There is an element of strategy, more so than with UNO, and as you go along, you get more and more cards. It’s funny to watch how each person manages up to 13 cards in their hand at a time.

Cover Your Assets is another fun game that involves both strategy and chance. This game is fun because you can go along thinking you’re doing pretty good, and then right at the end lose everything, or vise versa. These 3 games are more fun with larger groups. But there are several card games that work well with 2 people.

Skipbo is a game that one of my daughter’s will bring to play once in a while when she gets really bored. It’s not a hard game, usually it’s pretty quick, and it works well with just 2 players.

Phase 10 is the other game that my daughter will bring to play with just the 2 of us. Both these last games work well with small groups as well, but the are great for smaller groups as well.

The last game that I find very fun, and I’m not sure if its a board game or what, is Mancala. I enjoy the strategy of this game, and one of my sons enjoys playing this with me periodically.

These games do have different age ranges, UNO is great for anyone who can recognize their numbers and colors, especially the basic game. Skipbo and Phase 10 I would say are great for older kids and teens as there is some strategy involved in these games. Cover Your Assets and 5 Crowns I would say would be better for teens and adults as there are some strategy related items as well as just the holding of so many cards and staying organized throughout the game.

I think I have finally figured out how to add one of my products with a sale price on it. So, for the next 2 weeks, I will have my Octopus as my featured piece of art. This Octopus painting is one I painted almost 10 years ago, but it has been a favorite in note cards as well as framed art pieces since I painted it years ago. So, here is the link if you’d like to own one yourself. I have found that this pieces looks wonderful in a sea green picture frame, and many of the people who have purchased it have put it in their bathrooms or used it in rooms that have a beachy theme.
