Sending missionaries off on their missions is a sweet experience for everyone involved.

#2 Is Off

Salt Lake Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

This past couple of months has been quite a whirlwind. We have had so many changes and so many awesome adventures. So much family coming to visit, so many people leaving.

Today my 2nd oldest arrived at the Missionary Training Center. She has been doing home MTC for a week, now she will be in Provo for 2 weeks, and then she will be off to Denver, Colorado to serve her mission for 18 months (different than young men who serve for 2 years).

She flew down to Utah with my parents, sister-in-law, niece and nephew on Sunday because that’s when they were all leaving and she thought it would be fun to fly with them.

She did her last day of home MTC there at the grandparents on Monday. Tuesday she had a few last minute shopping items to get, along with a few more clothing items she wanted to get. Her aunt took her shopping and did a great job helping her as she hates shopping and this aunt knows how to shop and dress well.

Today my parents drove her to the MTC and dropped her off. I am grateful they are close and grateful to give them the opportunity to have this part of the missionary experience with my kids.

Some ask me if I’m nervous or scared for my kids on missions. I have to say no. I love the Lord, I trust the Lord, and I know that in sending them off on their missions to serve the Lord, He has them in His hands and will help them as He knows is best. I know that He has eternity in a better perspective than I do, and that He will help them succeed not only in this life but in all eternity.
