My oldest daughter and I flew down to Southern Utah this week so that we could attend my sisters wedding. My daughter was the photographer, but the pictures I’ll share today were from my phone as she is still in the editing process with her pictures.
First off, the weather here is beautiful, sunny, and warm. The afternoons have been in the high 50’s, except today it’s almost 70 degrees, both of which have been very pleasant. The sky is also blue and cloudless, which is a nice change from Alaska.

Saturday morning we started our morning at the Cedar City Temple where Kim and Matt were sealed for time and for all eternity. They both have been waiting an awfully long time to find each other and be able to go to the temple, so this was extra special for them.
We then went home for a couple of hours and then met at the venue for the ring ceremony and luncheon at 2:00. Each of my sisters three sons, as well as my dad, got to walk her down the isle. That was so cool to watch, and there weren’t many dry eyes.

After the ring ceremony we ate a fantastic lunch, catered by the venue, which is a little restaurant called The Park Place (super cute venue by the way). After dinner my daughter did a whole bunch of family photos with large group photos as well as just individual family photos.
There was about an hour in between all the dinner and photos before the reception began, so we went back home and changed clothes as it was meant to be more casual.

The Park Place is a small eatery, usually offering crepes, sandwiches and salads, along with ice cream in a variety of flavors. For the reception there was the variety of ice creams and brownies available. I saw so many old friends at the reception, it was nice to come down and see so many familiar faces.
The reception ended at 8:00. The families got everything personal picked up and the venue handled the rest of the clean up. We then took the presents and things to my sister’s home, not expecting to see Kim and Matt, but there they were.

At the reception we hadn’t eaten cake, they had simply cut it for the photos. But they stuck around and we all ate wedding cake together before they left on their honeymoon. It was a great ending to a fantastic day. The only sad part is my daughter and I have caught some sort of cold that everyone else had when we arrived, and are now sick. But I would come anytime to support my sister, even if I knew I would be sick.
I wish Kim and Matt all the happiness in the world, and look forward to getting to know Matt and his family in the coming years!
