Most years when I get to the new year I have quite a number of goals that I want to accomplish. For some reason this year has been a little different. I have a couple, and I feel like there’s something more I want to do, but I haven’t quite figured out what it is. It’s almost like that word that’s on the tip of your tongue but you can’t quite formulate it.

Consequently, I will share a couple of goals, but this will be a little longer process for me to nail down what it is exactly that I would like to do. But, I’ll share as we go along through the year. I guess part of the problem is I have several bigger goals but don’t have the process of accomplishing them nailed down.
The first one I’ll share is one that I’ve been thinking about for a while though, and I do have a little bit of a plan. I am going to create more content for my YouTube channel on a regular basis. The biggest debate in my mind was how frequently. I have pondered on once a week, once a month, and twice a month. I think I have settled on twice a month for now. This will give me time to film, and plenty of time to edit.
So, the next goal, that goes along with the first – learn to edit the videos in a better program. I have heard a lot about DaVinci video editing, and downloaded it a while ago. I was overwhelmed with the program when I first got it, however I did edit a couple of videos last year using the program. I was telling one of my daughter’s, and she used this program extensively on her mission and said she’d teach me how to use it. My goal is to learn to utilize this program for my YouTube video editing.
My third goal also relates to the above two. I painted a fair amount last year, but found myself having huge gaps in between my painting projects. I don’t want to have that happen again this year. The majority of my video’s will be painting tutorials. This will keep me regularly engaged in my painting as I’ll need content for the channel.

My next goal has to do with marketing. I am always trying to learn more about marketing, and while I do see lots of progress from where I began, I can see I have much further to go. This will take a little bit of searching and probably some more specific classes.
The last goal I’ll share today – to be more regularly engaged in my business. I tend to be pulled in many directions, so I find myself working hard the day before (or day of sometimes) an event, and then I end up forgetting things, I wish I had done more, etc. But if I engage better in my business, devoting time each day, I feel like that will elevate my overall presentation and products to be more professional.
I have noticed a trend this past year relating to the tortoise and the hare fable. I have been like the hare, spurts of high energy and then nothing. This has negatively affected how well I utilize my time in some areas. I have also noticed a lack of progress in different areas of my life like my painting. Overall I haven’t improved as much as I have in the past. Some of this has to do with how progress slows the better you get, but I think more of it has to do with just not being consistent every day, so I didn’t progress as fast.
One more goal – I am hoping to go ziplining this year! But, we’ll see how the year shakes out on that one. What are your goals?
