Today as I was studying for my seminary lesson I was reading the scripture that we are focusing on tomorrow.โI had the idea to have the kids summarize it in 3 words or less and then they will create a quick piece of word art to display for the remainder of class that they can then take home to remind them of what they learned.โ
1 Nephi 3:7
“And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.”
It’s interesting reading the scriptures regularly, because it seems like every time I read them there’s something new.โOver the years this scripture has always meant that I should strive to be obedient, that I should go and do.โFaith is an action word, and we show our faith by doing.โBut the last few times I have focused more on the end.

As I have been trying to improve my life, not just spiritually, but in all aspects of my life, I have had the opportunity to see that Heavenly Father is pleased with me when I have a desire to improve, and that He will inspire me in ways to improve.โBut not only that, and maybe especially, He will help me accomplish that thing that He has inspired.
Because I know that Heavenly Father is in the details of our lives, I know that He takes an interest in all aspects of our lives.โAs I have tried to allow Him to guide me, He has inspired me in my business pursuits as well as all aspects of my life.โHe has helped me find resources and know where to look for information in creating my websites.โHe has inspired me as to where to go for more knowledge, training, and education in all aspects of my life – painting, physical health, business, as well as spiritual matters.
Recently He has inspired me to create a new book about seeing His hand in all of these aspects of my life, and then helped me find a new option for publishing.โThis book, or any of my pursuits really, have not necessarily been easy, but as I have been obedient, the way has opened up.โHe helped me see the finish line a distance off, but often the path ahead wasn’t visible.โHe didn’t do the work for me, but he provided that light, one step ahead.โAs I have had the faith and been willing to take that step, I have found the next step illuminated each and every time.โ

That doesn’t guarantee success in any of these pursuits, at least no worldly success.โBut the knowledge I have gained in each portion of my life has compounded to bless me in every aspect of my life.โSo my phrase that I chose to create my word art with is, “Always A Way.”โI look forward to learning tomorrow what the youth will come up with as their personal phrase.โWhat would yours be?
