I love the scriptures because no matter how many times I read them, there is always something new to learn. Today I had new understanding.

Always A Way

Today as I was studying for my seminary lesson I was reading the scripture that we are focusing on tomorrow.โ€‚I had the idea to have the kids summarize it in 3 words or less and then they will create a quick piece of word art to display for the remainder of class that they can then take home to remind them of what they learned.โ€‚

1 Nephi 3:7

“And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.”

It’s interesting reading the scriptures regularly, because it seems like every time I read them there’s something new.โ€‚Over the years this scripture has always meant that I should strive to be obedient, that I should go and do.โ€‚Faith is an action word, and we show our faith by doing.โ€‚But the last few times I have focused more on the end.

Pathway through the woods, with a waterfall illuminated somewhere in the distance.

As I have been trying to improve my life, not just spiritually, but in all aspects of my life, I have had the opportunity to see that Heavenly Father is pleased with me when I have a desire to improve, and that He will inspire me in ways to improve.โ€‚But not only that, and maybe especially, He will help me accomplish that thing that He has inspired.

Because I know that Heavenly Father is in the details of our lives, I know that He takes an interest in all aspects of our lives.โ€‚As I have tried to allow Him to guide me, He has inspired me in my business pursuits as well as all aspects of my life.โ€‚He has helped me find resources and know where to look for information in creating my websites.โ€‚He has inspired me as to where to go for more knowledge, training, and education in all aspects of my life – painting, physical health, business, as well as spiritual matters.

Recently He has inspired me to create a new book about seeing His hand in all of these aspects of my life, and then helped me find a new option for publishing.โ€‚This book, or any of my pursuits really, have not necessarily been easy, but as I have been obedient, the way has opened up.โ€‚He helped me see the finish line a distance off, but often the path ahead wasn’t visible.โ€‚He didn’t do the work for me, but he provided that light, one step ahead.โ€‚As I have had the faith and been willing to take that step, I have found the next step illuminated each and every time.โ€‚

word art that says Always a way.

That doesn’t guarantee success in any of these pursuits, at least no worldly success.โ€‚But the knowledge I have gained in each portion of my life has compounded to bless me in every aspect of my life.โ€‚So my phrase that I chose to create my word art with is, “Always A Way.”โ€‚I look forward to learning tomorrow what the youth will come up with as their personal phrase.โ€‚What would yours be?
